Anime NYC Reviews

I went to Anime NYC and was surprised by how good the food and drinks were for such a big event. A friend had recommended grabbing food there instead of leaving the venue, so I tried the ramen and a bubble tea, and both actually tasted fresh.

The prices were definitely what you’d expect at an event, but the quality was solid and the lines moved faster than I thought they would. It was really nice being able to grab decent food without having to step out

I went in my Gojo cosplay and had such a fun day, I was practically floating around like I was in my own anime episode. It did get super crowded, and the lines were a bit chaotic at times, which almost made my soul leave my body, but the staff stepped in and helped keep things moving. The photos turned out really nice too, so overall it was totally worth it.

I went to Anime NYC getting in was way easier than I thought it would be!! I was fully expecting the entry lines to be a total mess, but they actually moved fast. The staff did a good job keeping everyone moving, and even inside, the crowd felt controlled. There were definitely some busy areas, but nothing too overwhelming. It made the whole day way less stressful and way more fun!!

I went to Anime NYC and had some fun moments, but my gut was telling me the health and safety setup wasn’t really where it should’ve been. Security was definitely around, but crowd control felt all over the place, and a few areas got packed way too quickly.

I also didn’t notice much cleaning happening, and some of the hand sanitizer stations I tried were empty. I usually try to trust my instincts in big crowds, i felt uneasy for a good part of the day

For the price, it’s worth it. You get what you need and I can’t really complain much...

I was hoping for more nice places to take photos, but the photo spots felt limited. The ones they did have felt rushed, like really rushed, and a bit messy too. It just wasn’t as easy or fun to get good pictures as I expected.

I had a really fun time at Anime NYC. The exhibitor hall had so much going on that I kept circling back because, you always miss like half the good stuff the first time. Artist Alley was probably my favorite part though, so many cool prints and little merch items, and every artist I talked to was super nice. The lines got busy, but that’s just how cons are, they’re basically always crowded. Overall, it was a really good con day.

I had a good time overall, but i wasn’t expecting to feel stressed about the representation this year. The event was fun, but it felt limited in who was included, and that kind of took me out of the experience. I really hope they make it feel more inclusive next time.

I tried buying tickets on animenyc.com, and the payment part was kind of a pain. My card didn’t go through the first time, and there only seemed to be a couple of payment options. I got it sorted after a few minutes, but it definitely wasn’t as smooth as I expected.

Overall, I felt safe at the con... There was some creepy behavior happening, but staff stepped in quickly and handled it, which I really appreciated. The only thing that still bugged me was the lines... they were confusing and kind of all over the place.

The Wi-Fi was kind of hit or miss when places got crowded and all that, but my phone signal was actually better than I thought it would be. I did have some trouble uploading pics during the busy times, which was a little annoying. But overall, I could still message friends and pull up my tickets and this and that without much trouble.

I tried using the app on my phone, but honestly—it was kind of a pain. The navigation felt confusing, and it kept freezing on me, which got annoying fast...

I tried registering my ticket and it just kept failing, over and over. Super frustrating because it seemed like it should’ve been a quick thing, but then suddenly I’m refreshing pages, checking my email, wondering if it went through or not. I reached out to support too, but they weren’t much help. The whole process felt messy and way more stressful than it needed to be...

The guest lineup was solid, and I’m glad I went. That said, a few of the panels felt rushed, and the schedule changes/confusion made it a bit hard to plan my day. I’m the kind of person who likes to know where I’m supposed to be ahead of time so I don’t miss anything or end up wasting time, so that part was a little stressful. Overall, I still had an okay time, but I’d feel better going again if the timing and communication were more organized.

Took my kids for the day and overall we had a really good time. It felt safe, the staff seemed friendly, and there was plenty to keep everyone happy, rides, snacks, places to sit, stuff for the younger kids, little things to look at, all of that. My kids were excited the whole time, especially when we got to do the bigger attractions and grab treats in between. The only downside was the lines got long, like for rides, food, bathrooms, and even some of the smaller activities. We still had fun, but I definitely found myself wishing things moved a little faster.

I went to Anime NYC with some friends and had such a good time, I was basically losing my mind every five minutes over someone’s cosplay. The crowd was super friendly, and it was surprisingly easy to chat with people while waiting in lines, which made the whole day feel way more fun. Some areas were absolutely packed to the point where I was like, okay, are we all becoming one giant anime blob now? But even with that, the energy was great. I’d definitely go again, I just really hope they figure out the spacing a little better next time

I was expecting the food and drinks to be way overpriced, so I was kind of bracing myself. But then I checked the prices and felt relieved. The snacks and drinks were actually fair, which made the whole experience a lot more enjoyable

They got back to me quickly and the replies were actually helpful. It sorta made the whole process feel a lot easier.

Like I said, it just felt messy from the start, and it definitely put me in a bad mood before I even got inside. Like I said, not the best way to kick off the day

I really wanted to enjoy Anime NYC more than I did. I’m already mostly remembering the fun parts, like the cool booths and seeing everyone’s outfits, but the venue setup was a lot. The lines were confusing, the signs didn’t always help, and I swear every staff member had a slightly different answer depending on who you asked. Getting around was tough too, especially with the elevators and accessible routes being so crowded, so everything took way longer than expected. There was definitely cool stuff at the con, but the logistics made me tired fast. I’d consider going again, but I really hope they sort out the entry and accessibility flow next time
